If you’re planning to road trip it to St Anton to save on the travel costs, it’s not a bad way of doing it if there’s four of you the share the fuel costs. If you’re driving yourself a road tax sticker "Vignette" is obligatory in order to drive on motorways and on the S16 so you’ll need to pick one up at the border or a petrol station.
Sorting out a car to get you from the airport should be relatively easy with one of the major car rental firms Avis, Budget, Europcar etc who have branches at Innsbruck airport. Sometime Snow chains are necessary and it is imperative that you have adequate snow equipment.
Speed Limits are 130 km/h on motorways, 100 km/h on main roads, 50 km/h in town. The alcohol limit is 0.5 pro mille. Seat belts are obligatory in the front and back of the vehicle. Drive safe!
